May 25, 2010 - Scott will give an all-day presentation, "Translating Personal Experience Into Art," at Chagrin Falls Middle School for Literacy Day.

March 1, 2010 - Scott won 2nd Place for Best Column, 2010 Ohio Professional Writers Association Contest

Feb. 13, 2010. Scott spoke at the Skyline Writers Meeting.
January 16, 2010. The Chagrin Valley Writers' Workshop held its first workshop.

March 2009: Announcement from The Hub City Writers Project:"The Scott Lax Prize was established in 2008 and is underwritten by Hillcrest Publications of Spartanburg, SC to honor novelist Scott Lax of Ohio." Click here to learn more about the winner.
November 14, 2009 - Scott gave the Keynote Speech at the Ohio Professional Writers' Association Meeting in Belleville, Ohio.

October 15, 2009 - Scott gave a talk on THE YEAR THAT TREMBLED, book and movie, to the Kent State University May 4 Task Force, at the KSU Library.

October 4, 2009 - Scott was one of the spoken word performers at the NightTown Academy of Poetry and Letters, Cleveland Heights, OH, "a literary fest and fundraiser to benefit the friends of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library."

May 16, 2009 - In the Ohio Professional Writers (the state affiliate of the National Association of Press Women) 2009 Communication Contest, Scott Lax was awarded two first places and one second place as follows:
1. First Place for "Original Columns, General"
2. First Place for "Feature Story, Magazine"
3. Second Place for "Special Series, Print Media.

March 28, 2009 - Scott presented "Putting Your Novel Together" at the Western Reserve Writers' Conference, Lakeland Community College, Mentor, Ohio.

March 18, 2009 - Scott was on a panel for "Soul of Media in a Digital Age" at Leadership Akron's Media Day

January 24, 2009 - Scott was a Master Judge for the Power of the Pen contest, Laurel School, Shaker Hts., OH

January 13, 2009 - Scott did a presentation at Montessori High School, Cleveland, OH
